Tributes trail Alhaja Mogaji

Former Governor of Lagos State and national leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,  said his late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, was not ill before she died.

“Mama was not sick at the time she died. She was not ill at all. In fact she was strong to the extent of someone of her age. She had her lunch shortly before she died. She started feeling uneasy around 5p.m today and I was immediately contacted.

I called her doctor to have a look at her but she died in the process. She died peacefully. She did not die as a result of any ailment. She died a happy and fulfilled old woman having lived to a very ripe age,” the former governor said.
Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande and wife, former governor of Lagos State, who was among the early callers at the residence of the Tinubus Jakande, who was received on arrival by Tinubu and scores of other dignitaries.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, who came with his wife, arrived the deceased’s residence at about 7p.m. While urging Tinubu and other relatives of the late community leader to take solace in the fact that she lived a good life, he described the deceased as a colossus among women.
Other dignitaries who called early to commiserate with the Tinubus include Mr. Tunji Bello, Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and his wife, Chief Lai Mohammed, Dr. Femi Hamzat, Alhaji Mutiu Are, Mrs. Akinyemi Obe, Olori Tokunbo Eko, Alhaji. Coker Aguda-Aguda LCDA. Alhaji. Lai Mohamed, Alhaji. Femi Okunnu, Commssioner for Works, Lagos, Alhaji Mutiu Are,Hon. Akinyemi-Obe Omobolanle, and a host of others.
