Nigeria's Deputy Minister Of Education Wike Leads Delegation To Visit Injured Rivers Lawmaker In London Hospital.  PHOTO AND STORY By: Sahara Reporter
Former Chief of Staff to governor Rotimi Amaechi and current Nigerian deputy minister of education has led a delegation of factional members  of the People's Democratic Party in Rivers State to visit injured Rivers lawmaker Michael Chinda in a London hospital.
Mr. Wike is the arrowhead of the  plot by President Goodluck Jonathan and his  wife, Patience to destabilize Rivers State and remove the state governor. Mr.  Chinda was severely injured after a pro-Amaechi lawmaker and majority leader of  Rivers State of Assembly, Chidi Lloyd severally smashed a wooden mace on his head and jaws on July 9th 2013 as a group of five lawmakers tried  unsuccessfully to impeach the speaker of the house.

Full text of the press release issued from London regarding the visit led by Mr. Wike below:
Prominent leaders of Rivers State from across political and professional divides on Saturday visited the member representing Obio/Akpor State Constituency 2 at the Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London, United Kingdom, where the legislator is recuperating from head and jaw surgeries carried out on him by medical experts in the health facility.

Those visited the injured lawmaker include; Minister of State for Education, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Austin Opara, President of Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Chief Okey Wali (SAN), Former Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, National Treasurer, Mr Kenneth Kobani, Former Transport Minister, Dr Abiye Sekibo, Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah and a former Commissioner in Rivers State, Mr. Bonny Iyaye.

The leaders were grateful to God for the survival of Hon. Michael Chinda despite the vicious knocks he received from the mace-wielding Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr. Chidi Lloyd. They condemned the brutal physical assault suffered by Hon. Chinda, saying that such violence must not be witnessed again in the state.

It will be recalled that Hon. Micheal Chinda received life-threatening injuries on his head and jaw after the Rivers State Majority Leader, Hon. Chidi Lloyd freely attacked him with the House Mace with the assistance of security details of Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State.

Speaking after the visit to the injured lawmaker and his family, Minister of State for Education, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike called on the constituents of the lawmaker to remain calm; pointing that justice will be done in the matter.

He said: “It is very unfortunate that such injury could be inflicted on a fellow human being. I remember that the man who carried out this barbaric act claimed that some people don’t have integrity. We can now see the kind of integrity he has. We are happy that the Honourable Member is alive. I want to call on his constituents and I am one of them, to remain calm. I know how Hon. Chinda is dear to them, but at the end of the day, justice will be done.”

Rt. Hon. Austin Opara, a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives expressed happiness that the lawmaker has been stabilized health wise, but said that it was unfortunate that the Rivers State Governor is yet to see anything wrong with the injuries inflicted on the lawmaker.

Former Minister of Transport, Dr Abiye Sekibo while condemning the brutal injury inflicted on Hon. Chinda, said all well meaning Nigerians must rise to condemn such pre-meditated act of violence in the interest of the nation’s political growth.

He said: “All of us must condemn what happened. It doesn’t matter on which side of the political divide that we find ourselves. Governors who see this kind of barbarism and fail to condemn it, but choose to turn it to political drama will not be forgiven by history”.

Rivers State PDP Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah regretted that despite the devastating attack on a State lawmaker by the State House Majority Leader, Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is yet to ask after the welfare of the lawmaker, choosing instead to host series of solidarity visits from governors at the expense of the depleting resources of Rivers State.

Former ACN National Treasurer, Mr Kenneth Kobani said that whoever supports the acts of pre-meditated violence perpetrated against the Rivers State lawmaker needs his conscience examined.
“Our common duty is to ensure that we do not support this kind of evil. It is shocking that even as we speak, those who carried out this evil act are still going about justifying the evil. That tells you the deplorable state that our state has fallen to” Kobani lamented.

Plane skids off runway into ocean on Indonesian island of Bali

Plane skids off runway into ocean on Indonesian island of Bali
By Marian Smith, Staff Writer, NBC News

A passenger jet skidded off the runway into the ocean while attempting to land on the Indonesian resort island of Bali on Saturday, local officials said.
"The aircraft was from Bandung, West Java, and about to land in Bali Ngurah Rai Airport but it probably failed to reach the runway and fell into the sea," Lion Air spokesman Edward Sirait said according to Reuters.
All 108 passengers and crew members survived, the company and the government said according to Reuters. Forty people were treated for broken legs, shock, and other injuries, but only four were admitted to a hospital, according to officials.
The plane stopped in shallow waters at least 650 feet past the end of the runway, Indonesian media reported. Local TV footage showed the plane with slightly ruptured fuselage floating in the water. People in life vests were also visible in the water.
Seven crew members and 101 passengers were aboard the plane, Sirait said.
Multiple pictures of the crippled plane circulated on Twitter.
"There was no sign at all it would fall but then suddenly it dropped into the water," passenger Tantri Widiastuti, 60, told Metro TV. "I saw holes in the floor of the plane ... we were evacuated quickly."
An investigation is under way, and the National Transportation Safety Board said it was sending a team to the site.
Reuters reported that Lion Air is a popular budget airline in Indonesia, which has a poor airline safety record.
NBC News' Matthew DeLuca and Reuters contributed to this report.

General Overseer Arrested for Robbery

 Ibikunle Olarewaju John

EXPOSED! Pastor Arrested For Armed Robbery Dedicated 2 Cars On Sunday!!!!!!!!

Lagos State Police Command, paraded seven suspects of a robbery gang that attacked the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos last month.

Among the suspects, was the General Overseer of The Way of Joy Church located in Egbe, a Lagos suburb. The pastor, identified as Ibikunle Olarewaju John, has confessed. But there is more…

Although, Pastor Ibikunle disclosed that his share of the loot was N500,000. But investigation carried out by Crime Guard showed that he might have got more than that. A suspected member of the gang confirmed Crime Guard’s claim. A further attestation to this claim was the discovery that Pastor Ibikunle bought two cars apparently from his share of the loot, two weeks later.

A man who pleaded anonymity opened up and asked :“Are you a member of the church”? The reporters shook their heads.

He further said, “ if you know what is good for you, better leave there before you will get yourself into trouble. The white garment church was sealed last week after the arrest of the Pastor.. Some policemen came last week and arrested him and before we knew it, we started hearing he was a member of a robbery gang. Even, the whole newspapers in Nigeria carried the news two days ago”

Before his arrest, Pastor Ibikunle was said to have dedicated two vehicles, during which he hosted members of his church and friends to a buffet.

“Although he is an easy-going fellow who by every dint of appearance never exhibited any character of a robber. We usually saw people coming in and out of the church on daily basis. And on Sundays, there were usually church services.

“Towards the end of the month, he treated his members and friends who came in posh cars to a party, in celebration of his newly purchased cars. It was not long that we heard he bought them with the proceeds from the robbery operation at the airport. It was after his arrest that I believed the popular saying that facial appearance is indeed deceptive”, a resident of the area said.

Sources say the pastor’s wife has absconded with their children due to the shame
